Deforestation due to Urbanization

  Deforestation Deforestation or forest clearance is the removal of a forest or stand of trees from land that is then converted to non-forest use. Deforestation can involve conversion of forest land to farms, ranches, or urban use such as agricultural croplands, urbanization, or mining activities. As you all might already be familiar with the term and its meaning and be familiar with some of the problems, we are facing these days due to deforestation, but wait! Deforestation is much more of a serious issue than we realize. Did You know? the world bank estimates that in the last 25 years, forests shrank by a whopping 1.3 million square km, and for an estimate of how big that area is? It is bigger than the size of whole south Africa.
